Holy Crappo!
Haven't finished the whole article, but..
Yeah, pour the money for the conservative and screw around! Literally...

Yeah, unfortunately, we will just replace them with lying douchebag democrats. I voted for those bastards because they promised to end the War and they have voted 2 very large cash dumps to keep it going instead. Fuck em all. I swear if people weren't so apathetic, we would be dead in the middle of a revolution right now.
I truly beleive the only salvation is vote out any politician who has been in office more than 4 years and start over again.
[this is good]
I broke up with a girl once because she was a Republican... no, it was because she was a bad person... wait, what's the difference? Just kidding, Republicans would be amusing if they weren't so dangerous... kind of like the Klan.
:) Yep, it's true.....

There are bad people in both parties. Unfortunitly they are the ones that make the most noise and get the most press. Which leaves all the people who pay no attention thinking that they are the ones to vote for.

If we could get people to actually care about a really issue insteed of all these Bullshit issues that have nothing to do with how the will run the country.

Yes, true, but I just feel the whole Republcian platform is built on fear and arrogance. AND they just can't seperate their so called 'values' from real political issues, and so, spend all their time worrying about the wrong thing.
The democrats are EXACTLY the same. The difference is, you share their moral values(therefore making them "real political issues") and as such overlook the fear and arrogance tactics.

Not true at all. The current Republican party (not conservatives) has based its platfrom on fear: fear of illegal aliens, fear of gays, fear of women in power, fear of WMDs that never seem to exist, fear of foreign cultures and the fear of poor people becoming healthy and wealthy. Look at the issues between the two parties in the current election . Republicans want to discuss the war in Iraq and illegal immigration, Democrats want to discuss healthcare, the environment, supporting the middle class and using tax dollars to improve the quality of life. From the very outset the mentality of what is truly important is completely true.

And yes I do support these values as I have seen what the current Republican party has done to destabilize this country and the world.

The current Repuplican's devasted the balanced budget they inherited from the Democrats and increased the size of the government while reducing its effectiveness. All the while calling the Democrats fiscally irresponsible and wanting to bankrupt the country. If that not's fear and arrogance, I don't kow what is.

The current Republican party use propagandists masquerading as journalists, (Limbaugh, Savage, O'Reilly etc, notice I didn't include Tucker Carlson a conservative in this group) to agitate an increasingly ignorant public with distortions of the truth to further their cause. The Deomcrats never had to do this during the Carter administration because things were going along just fine, no illegal wars, growing economy, happy campers everywhere you looked.

And don't even get me started on the Bush tax cuts which serve American families that make over 250,000 per year and leave the rest scrambling for a trickle down dime.

Now, has the current Democratic congress been ineffective? You bet. But they have also been hamstrung by a president who vetoes everything while chiding them to be more cooperative and Republicans who are trying to save their seats for party politics. They see the writing on the wall and know how bad they have fucked up....even their highly prized social legislation, No Child Left Behind,is so flawed that it is considered useless by members of both parties and leaders of the education industry.

Alan Greenspan put it best when he said, "The Republican party has sacrificed principles for power, and now has neither.

Er,actually I meant Clinton adminstration not Carter...and

From the very outset the mentality of what is truly important is completely different...not 'true"

Need more coffee:)

The budget comes from a deal between Congress and the President. Clinton had a Republican congress to work with. Anytime one party controls both offices, it is a mess. I would look at the Carter Administration for another example. Things got so bad that Carter committed political suicide by telling Americans "Our glory days are over, we are going to have to learn to live with less and work harder."

I agree with you that Bush sux. I just think the Democrats suck every bit as bad. I will wager you my entire paycheck for the year that we will be in Iraq a year after a Democrat takes office.

Oh and Democrats do have their Limbaugh's and O'Reilly's. Michael Moore is one that comes to mind as does all of the Radio Free America folks.

When it comes down to it, Republicans and Democrats are the same animal and control of the country determines who is the worst. It is like watching a comedy skit with pirates wrestling for the rapier. The Democrat Pirate grabs the rapier and pokes the Republican pirate shouting "Now I have you!!" then the Republican pirate wrestles it away points it at the Democrat Pirate and shouts "Ha, It seems that now I have you!!" Then you rinse and repeat. Meanwhile, nothing gets done, the ship sinks and the rapier continues to shift back and forth between 2 bad guys even after they sink.

Was I stoned when I thought that up? =)
LOL...The above was actually me but a co-worker was logged in on my computer =/. Here is the repost =):

Again, the Republicans inherited a balanced budget and fucked it up, not the Democrats, they couldn't have they weren't in power.

Michael Moore does not masquerade as a journalist and doesn't have folks like Karl Rove feeding him propaganda. I don't know the Radio Free America folks, but I do know that any 'liberal' focused tv or radio programs in the commercial braodcasting arena have failed or lost so much audience that they are not considered a viable outlet for the Democrats.

Indeed we may need to be Iraq a year after a Democrat takes office to ensure a safe exit with minimum US and Iraq casualties..that has more to do with military warfare than policy. But the reason we are there is greed and avarice, and which party exemplifies greed and avarice better than the current crop of Republicans.

Nice pirate analogy, let's hope the Republicans lose the rapier and the fight and go down with the sinking ship they torched themselves.

Austin, I did not read this article but did the read the article in the new issue of VF about that couple (Teresa Duncan and Jonathan Blake) in NY that committed suicide in July within a week of each other..The Golden Couple or something like that.

What is your take on this bizarre story?

havn't read it yet, I will though....
Read it and post. VERY STRANGE! They were both up and coming artist/writers...it is a shame. Please let me know what you think.
Obama seems to be attracting some Republicans and Independents... the Iowa Caucus was very encouraging.

Then again, Huckabee's good showing scares the shit out of me. Anyone who doesn't believe in evolution in this day and age... yikes. We have enough religious wingnuts screwing up the world and ruining governments around the globe... we don't need another one here at home.

Agreed, Iowa was a glimpse of hope for real change. And Huckabee scares the hell out of me....

I appreciate your perspective and well-balanced opinion. There's never just 1 party at fault, nor is there usually just 1 person at fault (though we can all pretty much agree we're not happy with the current Pres.). As "Hil" said, "It takes a village" and that goes for the fuck-ups as well as the victories.
Absolutely. I am hoping that Obama wins the presidency. I am sure he will ultimately disappoint me but at least he will make me feel good about it. =)
