Crazy! I've read stories about trains in India, too, where dozens of people are riding on the top and sides of the train. They have a lot of accidents.
Yeah, I've heard about that too. I wish I had gone to India before it became so unpopualr to be American, now it seems a little too risky...or I'm getting paranoid in my old age. Even my old Aussie mates aren't going to the Pan Asia regions going like they used to.

I read your comment to Paxton, I've been feeling that way about visiting a lot of countries these days. We aren't very popular anywhere anymore, are we? It suck, really.
We must live such sheltered lives. I just can't imagine anything like this. Of course I'd like to think that we would not tolerate such a thing. Anyway... I've always wanted to visit India. It strikes me that if you have any close friends with family there you might ask if they could put you up. Living with a local family could do a lot to ensure your safety. Just a thought. Carry on.
